Menzel’s fundraising campaign raises 2,660 euros from 266 Christmas tree ornaments!

In the end, a total of 266 Christmas tree ornaments adorned our Menzel Christmas tree. Not only did it look great, it also meant that our donation sum totaled 2,660 Euros. This money was donated to PuR gGmbH in Berlin Hennigsdorf.

Not all people have been able to cope with the current crisis, as the Covid19 Pandemic has dramatically worsened the situation of many needy people. Therefore, we decided to forego gifts for customers and business partners this year having instead created a special Christmas project together with our team.

"Help, our Christmas tree is bare naked!"

Under the motto "Help, our tree is bare naked", all employees were called upon to decorate the green, bare Menzel Christmas tree with their own ornaments and bulbs. For every Christmas tree ornament brought along, MENZEL promised to donate 10.00 Euro to a good cause.

Our employees not only brought the tree decorations they had sorted out, they also hung things they had made themselves. It was great to see how the tree was filling up day after day.

Emergency shelter for homeless people is happy about the donation

The non-profit project and social regional development company (PuR gGmbH) in Berlin Hennigsdorf was very happy to receive our donation. The money will be used for local emergency accommodation.

Last week our Managing Director Mathis Menzel visited the shelter home to hand over the cheque. In addition to the PuR Managing Director, Annette Koegst (from left to right), the Deputy Managing Director Julia Steinach and the Head of the emergency shelter for homeless people in Berlin Hennigsdorf, Uwe Wosnitza, were present to receive the very welcome cheque.

The donation came at exactly the right time, as money was needed to equip the emergency shelter where additional sleeping and washing facilities for homeless people are currently being set up.

Together for more charity projects in Hennigsdorf

Founded in 1995 as a non-profit company by the city of Hennigsdorf, PuR actively supports social projects in the city of Hennigsdorf and in the southern district of Oberhavel. In recent years, they have accompanied the far-reaching structural change in this industrial district in the outskirts of Berlin: Child and youth care, neighborhood management and integration, employment promotion and a variety of social counseling and support services.

Since we will soon be direct neighbours at our new company location in Hennigsdorf, we are convinced this was only the first of many more social projects, we can realize together. As a long-established company, we are only too aware of our responsibilities towards the city and the local community.
