Our modular squirrel cage motors are available with cooling types IC 01, IC 06, IC 411, IC 416 and IC 511, or with air-air cooling (IC 611, IC 616 and IC 666) or air-water cooling (IC 81W and IC 86W). MENZEL modular MEBKSL-series electric motors with squirrel cage rotors and air-air cooling are especially powerful and robust. They have welded steel housing with integrated foot adapter plates. This housing design guarantees optimal cooling.
MENZEL MEBKSL motors with air-air heat exchangers are available with axle heights of up to 800 mm, and power ratings of up to 8 MW. They are specially designed for challenging industrial applications. They meet the highest requirements, e.g. as crusher drives or fan drives in the cement industry.

In our modular MEBKSL series, we offer electric motors with squirrel cage rotors and flexible design options, in the low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage ranges. The standard basic design of our MPKSL electric motors is identical, but the options for cooling, protection and mounting are manifold.
The electric motors can be adapted for all possible industrial uses. Simultaneously, the standard basic design of our modular squirrel cage motors reduces costs and increases flexibility.

Electric motors with air-air heat exchangers (IC 611, IC 616 and IC 666)
The most common, or most frequent air-air cooling type is IC 611, which was referred to earlier as IC 0161. In the air-air cooling type IC 611, air from the motor exhaust flows through an attached hood, to the so-called air-heat exchanger. The air-to-air heat exchanger is typically a welded construction, with steel or aluminum cooling pipes. Customer-specific air-air heat exchanger designs can be realized at any time.
The heat generated in the electric motor (stator and rotor) is fed into the air-to-air heat exchanger by an internal fan in the internal circuit. Ambient air from the exterior fan (secondary fan) on the shaft flows through the air-air heat exchanger. The internal air or motor exhaust air flows around the cooling pipes, and is cooled by the secondary air flow within the pipes. A hood with suction opening covers the secondary fan.
