Mathis Menzel, Managing Director of Menzel Elektromotoren, has been elected Chairman of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) at the EASA Convention 2026 in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1933, EASA brings together companies from the electric motor, generator, and mechanical apparatus industries worldwide. As Chairman, Mathis Menzel now leads a global network dedicated to fostering the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices while helping shape the future of the industry.

"It is a tremendous honor to take on this role," said Menzel during his inauguration. "When I attended my first EASA Convention 17 years ago, I immediately became part of a community defined by openness and mutual support. That experience has stayed with me ever since and inspired me to give something back to this organization."

"Stronger Together" as a guiding theme

Menzel has chosen "Stronger Together" as the theme of his term as Chairman. Through this initiative, he aims to further strengthen international collaboration within EASA and deepen connections among the association's regions around the world.

In his inaugural address, Menzel emphasized that the industry faces many of the same challenges globally: workforce shortages, digital transformation, the adoption of artificial intelligence, rising costs, supply chain disruptions, and increasing demands for sustainability and efficiency. At the same time, he highlighted the significant opportunities created by international cooperation.

"No region and no company will overcome the challenges of the future alone. We become stronger when we share knowledge, exchange experiences, and build trust across countries and cultures," Menzel said.

A key priority during his term will be strengthening dialogue among EASA regions in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. As a European Chairman, he hopes to learn from every part of the network while encouraging even closer collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions.

A community beyond competition

The relationship between Menzel Elektromotoren and EASA spans nearly five decades. Since the late 1970s, the company has been an active member of the association, benefiting from the exchange of technical expertise, industry experience, and international connections within the network.

For Mathis Menzel personally, EASA has also played an important role throughout his career. "What I discovered was much more than an association," he recalled. “EASA is a place where even competitors help one another, where experience is shared generously, and where people genuinely want the industry to succeed.”

This unique culture of openness and collaboration has not only shaped Menzel personally but has also contributed to the development of Menzel Elektromotoren. Over the decades, countless ideas, relationships, and insights gained through the international network have influenced the company's growth and evolution. Menzel's election as Chairman therefore also reflects the company's long-standing commitment to and involvement in the global EASA community.

Following his example, other MENZEL employees are also actively involved in various international projects and events organized by the organization.

Benefits for customers and employees

For Menzel customers, active participation in the international EASA network provides direct access to the latest industry knowledge, technological developments, and global best practices. Regular exchange with manufacturers, service providers, and industry experts around the world helps identify emerging trends early and enables valuable insights from diverse markets to be incorporated into day-to-day operations.

Employees also benefit from this engagement. Access to a worldwide network of experts, international industry events, and ongoing training and professional development opportunities supports continuous learning and encourages the exchange of knowledge throughout the organization. These experiences create new perspectives and ideas that ultimately benefit customers as well.

Commitment to the future of the industry

During his term as Chairman, Mathis Menzel intends to advance key initiatives in education, workforce development, innovation, and international collaboration. He believes the future of the industry will be shaped by a combination of technical expertise, manufacturing excellence, and open exchange across borders.

"The future of our industry will be built on education, innovation, craftsmanship, and strong relationships," said Menzel. “Together, we can achieve far more than any of us could alone.”

Throughout his year as Chairman, Menzel plans to visit as many EASA regions and local chapters as possible. Building personal relationships and engaging directly with member companies will be a major focus of his term. He hopes not only to learn from the experiences and perspectives of different markets, but also to strengthen connections among regions and further promote the global exchange of knowledge. In keeping with his theme, "Stronger Together," he is committed to fostering meaningful conversations, personal connections, and lasting relationships throughout the worldwide EASA network.

For Menzel Elektromotoren, Menzel's election as Chairman represents an important milestone in the company's history. It highlights the company's long-standing international orientation and its active role within the global electrical and mechanical apparatus industry.
