Squirrel cage induction motor for driving a disperser in an paper mill

As part of the uprating of a disperser drive from 450 to 710 kW (the disperser has a capacity of max. 710 kW), an about 20 year old motor (brand Siemens) was replaced by the new motor. One of the two existing old motors is retained as a reserve. Because the new rib-cooled motor despite the higher power has a significantly smaller frame size than the original tube-cooled motor, a two piece intermediate frame was fabricated and supplied to adjust the frame size. On the base were made no changes, because the old motor must be used as a reserve again.
