Custom adaptations for extreme operating conditions
To ensure seamless integration into the existing system, our team implemented a range of modifications. We manufactured new shaft ends, adjusted the foot mounting holes to match the existing foundation, shortened and repositioned the rotor terminal boxes, and installed additional auxiliary terminal boxes for the slip ring compartment. These adaptations guarantee optimal interaction with the existing plant infrastructure while meeting the stringent protection and cooling requirements.
The IP55 protection rating provides enhanced resistance against dust and moisture. With IC 611 air-to-air heat exchangers, the motors achieve efficient cooling crucial for continuous operation in the dusty and temperature-intensive environment of a gold mine. A rated torque of 45,682 Nm and a permissible maximum torque of up to 290% underline the high performance reserves and robustness of these drives.

Rapid delivery and on-site support
A key success factor for this project was the very short delivery time. Thanks to our large motor stock and in-house manufacturing capabilities, we were able to modify and supply the two slip ring motors at short notice.
