MENZEL test field now equipped for extreme temperature motor testing
Our electric motor test facility in Hennigsdorf, Berlin, is constantly evolving to provide the most realistic testing conditions for all types of motors. The latest major upgrade: a thermal tent that allows us to perform motor tests at ambient temperatures exceeding 55 °C.
The thermal tent is specifically designed to accommodate even our largest high-voltage motors and special designs. A controlled system of heaters and circulating fans ensures homogeneous heat distribution around the test object, while precise regulation allows us to reproduce customer-specific environmental conditions. The tent can be set up quickly and adapted flexibly to different motor sizes, which makes it a powerful extension of our test infrastructure. Now we are able to:
- Monitor the thermal rise in windings, cores and active materials under high ambient load.
- Assess the efficiency and limits of different cooling systems.
- Verify insulation performance and thermal stability of materials in line with international standards.
- Simulate continuous operation under maximum stress, providing reliable data for lifecycle predictions
