Two synchronous generators manufactured for oil production

Manufacturer and supplier of generators, MENZEL Elektromotoren was commissioned to manufacture two identical three-phase synchronous generators. The installation site is an oil field in Sudan, where both synchronous generators are driven by diesel motors to produce oil.

Both electrical and mechanical interchangeability with the originally installed, failed synchronous generators had to be guaranteed as well as a proper functioning of the existing excitation equipment.

MENZEL offers three-phase asynchronous generators and synchronous generators of up to 10 MVA for various industrial applications.

Testing of synchronous generators at manufacturer’s test field

The two large 8-pole synchronous generators were tested under load directly in our load test field in Berlin. A real show of strength, because each generator weighs 27.5 t. The customer personally attended the acceptance test of his generators on site in Berlin, Germany.

Upon request, we offer our customers the opportunity to be present personally when their motors and generators are tested. For this purpose, a soundproof and heated visitor's cabin was installed at the MENZEL test load field in Berlin, from which you can watch the testing process in detail.
